Is an Online Label Cropper Safe? How to Check Before You Upload
· 2 min read
What a label contains
A shipping label shows the customer's name, phone number and delivery address, plus your own address and order ID. Uploading it to a third party server shares that personal data with the tool's operator.
How to check whether a tool uploads your file
- Open the tool and press F12 to open developer tools, then the Network tab.
- Drop a PDF into the tool.
- Watch the requests. If a large POST or upload request appears, the file is leaving your device.
- If no request carries your file, processing is local.
How LabelCropKit handles files
LabelCropKit reads and crops PDFs inside your browser tab. No upload step exists. Only your settings and the file names of recent jobs are saved, on your device. Read the privacy page for details.
Other things to look for
- A clear privacy statement that says whether files are stored.
- No sign-up wall before cropping.
- No unexplained third party scripts on the tool page.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to upload customer shipping labels to this tool?
Nothing is uploaded: the PDF is processed in your browser, so names, phones and addresses never reach our servers.
Does it work offline?
After one visit the tool can open offline as an installed web app.
