Troubleshooting

How to Crop a Meesho Label Without Cutting the Barcode

· 2 min read

Why barcodes get clipped

A fixed cropper cuts every page at the same height, for example the top half. That works until a courier changes the label layout, or an order has a longer address, and the barcode sits a few millimetres lower than expected. The cut lands inside the barcode and the courier scanner reads nothing.

What to do instead

  1. Crop by content, not by a fixed height. The cut should follow the invoice heading and the real edge of what is drawn on the page.
  2. Keep the label as vector. Copy the page content instead of turning it into a picture, so bars stay sharp at 4×6.
  3. Leave a small margin. A few millimetres of white avoids trimming the quiet zone a scanner needs around a barcode.
  4. Verify before you print. Read the barcodes back from the cropped file. If a barcode cannot be read on screen, it will not be read on a sticker.

Steps with LabelCropKit

  1. Open the Meesho label crop tool and drop in your label PDFs.
  2. Keep the output size on 4 × 6 in (or 100×150 mm for metric rolls).
  3. Choose Remove invoices.
  4. Wait for the result. The line under the preview says whether every barcode was read back.
  5. If a page is listed as failed, compare its preview with the original PDF.

If a barcode still does not scan

  • Raise the printer darkness one step and print a single test label.
  • Check that the printer paper size matches the PDF page size and print at 100% scale.
  • Use a fresh label roll; old thermal paper fades.
  • Report the file name through the contact page so the layout can be fixed.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my cropped Meesho barcode not scan?

Usually the crop clipped the barcode or the print was scaled. Crop by content, print at 100% scale, and use the barcode check in the tool.
